Taalcafé Noord brings together native Dutch speakers and learners in a relaxed, informal setting. Unlike most language exchanges, we meet after working hours, so you can join straight from the office and wind down while practising your Dutch over a drink.
Who is it for
Anyone who can hold a short conversation in Dutch (A1+) is welcome. Native speakers are very welcome! You don't need to teach or explain grammar, just show up and be patient!
How does it work
Each session includes one hour of conversation in small groups: one or two learners paired with one native speaker. Ice breakers and conversation topics are provided, but you're free to talk about whatever comes naturally.
To keep the groups balanced, you'll first join a waiting list. Once we can pair you with a partner, we'll confirm your spot.
How much does it cost
Learners pay a small fee of €2.50 per session, which helps covering the venue cost. Participation is free for native speakers: we want to make it as easy as possible for them to join, since natives tend to be fewer than learners in initiatives like this.
When and where?
The (first!) session will be held on Wednesday 8 July, from 18:30 at De Tanker, in the hearth of Noorderpark. Check our events page for more details about it!
